This 1 week event allows young people and adults an opportunity to cultivate, explore, and develop skills that have always interested them. Students may attend classes of their choosing. Class and schedule specifics are available below. Friday evening, June 23rd, an art gallery will display projects created by students during the week and a mini concert by our musicians and children’s choir.

$75 - Watercolor Painting Course 1: Instructor: Kennedy Voetberg

Class Logistics: 9 - 9:50 AM // June 19th, 20th, 21st, 22nd, & 23rd, 2023 (Friday morning is spent creating the art gallery)

  • Students: Ages 5+

  • Class Size: 20 students

  • Knowledge Level: No prior painting experience necessary

  • All supplies provided

  • In this watercolor painting course, students will learn beginner watercolor skills. We will go over basic color theory, color palette selection, brush and water use techniques, and picture composition. Students will complete a few pieces throughout the course of the week, and will select their favorite piece to be displayed in a gallery at the end of the week. Each student will be given a take-home guide for use beyond the workshop.

$75 = Photography: Instructor: Maria Booy

Class Time: 10AM - 10:50 AM - June 19th, 20th, 21st, 22nd, & 23rd, 2023 (Friday morning is spent creating the art gallery)

  • Students: Ages 8+ (Adults Very Welcome)

  • Knowledge Level: Beginner to intermediate

  • Student Must Bring: Digital/DSLR Camera and working computer. All other supplies provided

  • Class Size: 20 Students

  • These five classes will cover the technical and creative aspects of photography. Students will have the classroom and ‘hands on’ opportunity to learn composition, posing, practicing on people, lighting, color, location, editing, camera settings, in-door lighting, etc… Students will receive one on one critique as they practice. At the end of the week, students will choose their favorite images to display in the art gallery for Friday evening.

$75 = Watercolor Course 2: Instructor: Kennedy Voetberg

Class Time: 10 - 10:50 AM - June 19th, 20th, 21st, 22nd, & 23rd, 2023 (Friday morning is spent creating the art gallery)

  • Students: Ages 8+ (Adults Very Welcome)

  • Class Size: 30 students

  • ​Knowledge Level: Very basic watercolor experience will be sufficient for this course

  • All supplies provided

  • In watercolor two, students will receive more in-depth color theory instruction, and spend time expanding on and refining existing painting skills. Students will spend the week painting on a detailed watercolor piece, which will be displayed in a gallery at the end of the week. Each student will be given a take-home guide for use beyond the workshop.  

$75 = Cake Decorating Class: Instructor: Merrie Bedford

Class Time: 10 - 10:50 AM - June 21st, 22nd, & 23rd, 2023 (Friday morning is spent creating a group project to present that evening for the gallery)

Class Time: 9 - 9:50 AM - CLASS FULL

  • Students: Ages 8+ (Adults Very Welcome)

  • Class Size: 10 students

  • ​Knowledge Level: No experience to Intermediate

  • All supplies provided

  • Be ready to get a bit of powdered sugar on your nose during this, three day, hands on cake decorating class. No experience to intermediate level cake decorators are welcome.We will review and discuss frostings and cake coatings, practice piping techniques and making edible floral and figurine decorations as we work on cupcakes, multiple layer and multi-tier cakes.



$45 = Children’s Choir: Instructor: Lisa Voetberg

Class Time: 10 - 10:50 AM - June 19th, 20th, 21st, 22nd, & 23rd, 2023 // 5 days(Friday morning is the sound check)

  • Students: Ages 6 - 12

  • Any knowledge level

  • Class size: 40 Students

  • All supplies provided

  • Students will learn to sing rounds, hymn histories, play music movement games, and perform a 2 part choral piece Friday evening.

$75 = Piano 1: Instructor: Brice Hansen

Class Time: 11 - 11:50 AM - June 19th, 20th, 21st, 22nd, & 23rd, 2023 // 5 days (Friday morning is the sound check)

  • Students: Ages 6-9

  • Class Size: CLASS FULL - 3-5 Students

  • Knowledge Level: No experience required

  • Student Must Bring: Electric/Digital Piano. All other supplies provided (Contact about rentals)

  • This class will teach simple songs by ear, basics of keyboard geography and an introduction and sampling of note reading and improvisation.  

$75 = Piano 2: Instructor: Rudy Voetberg

Class Time: 9 - 9:50 AM - June 19th, 20th, 21st, 22nd, & 23rd, 2023 // 5 days (Friday morning is the sounds check)

  • Students: Ages 12+ (Adults Very Welcome)

  • Class Size: 15 Students

  • Knowledge Level: Upper Intermediate - Lower Advanced

  • Student Must Bring: Electric/Digital Piano. All other supplies provided (Contact about rentals)

  • In this piano course, we will explore the Latin world of music through learning the fundamentals of bossa nova piano. While traversing through the rhythmatic world of South America, we will also dive into the basics of improvising. Students will come home from this class with tools to help build and diversify their musical talents.

$75 = Guitar: Instructor: Annie Rasmussen

Class Time: 9 - 9:50 AM - June 19th, 20th, 21st, 22nd, & 23rd, 2023 // 5 days (Friday morning is the sounds check)

  • Students: Ages 8 -18

  • Class Size: CLASS FULL - 6 Students

  • Knowledge Level: No experience required 

  • Student Must Bring: Acoustic guitar. All other supplies provided (Contact about rentals)

  • In this class students will learn the basics of playing guitar. We will learn how the guitar is tuned, the names of the strings, and how to play the most common chords! We will also learn a song to perform at the end of the week! Students should come ready to learn and most importantly to have FUN.


$75 = Fiddle 1: Instructor: Annie Rasmussen

Class Time: 10 - 10:50 AM - June 19th, 20th, 21st, 22nd, & 23rd, 2023 // 5 days (Friday morning is the sound check)

  • Students: Ages 5 - 15

  • Class Size: 10 Students = CLASS FULL

  • No experience required

  • Student Must Bring: Violin. All other supplies provided (Contact about rentals)

  • In this class students will learn all about the Fiddle. We will learn how to take care of the Fiddle, the name of the strings and best of all how to make nice sounding music with it! We will learn a song to perform at the end of the week! Students should come ready to learn and most importantly to have FUN.

$75 = Fiddle 2: Instructor: Lilja Rasmussen

Class Time: 11 - 11:50 AM - June 19th, 20th, 21st, 22nd, & 23rd, 2023 // 5 days (Friday morning is the sound check)

  • Students: Ages 5 - 15

  • Level: Intermediate

  • Class Size: 15 Students

  • Must already have 1 year of lessons to participate

  • Student Must Bring: Violin. All other supplies provided (Contact about rentals)

  • In this class, we will learn fun fiddle tunes, play musical ear training games and  prepare a fiddle tune to perform at the end of the week. During this class students will learn to use their ears to learn what is being played all while having fun! 

$75 = Fiddle 3: Instructor: Vance Voetberg

Class Time: 11 - 11:50 AM - June 19th, 20th, 21st, 22nd, & 23rd, 2023 // 5 days (Friday morning is the sound check)

  • Students: Ages 5 - 15

  • Level: Upper Intermediate +

  • Class Size: 15 Students

  • Must already have 1 year of lessons to participate

  • Student Must Bring: Violin. All other supplies provided (Contact about rentals)

  • In this class, we will discover and learn old fiddle tunes, as well as writing an original fiddle tune to perform at the end of the week. Through this course, students will gain a broader understanding and appreciation for the vast world of fiddle music. Students should come ready to learn, and most importantly, to have fun.

Music and art is a language that speaks, connects and impacts people, each in its own way. Our desire for this yearly, 1 week event is to create an opportunity for the local community to learn, cultivate, explore, and develop their interest in music and art. Our instructors are professionals equipped to teach the area of their expertise. Attendees will learn the mastery of music and intricacies of art by participating in classes tailored to their level. Our goal is to host multiple classes with different skill levels that will meet various learning backgrounds. Through attending, each participant will gain a deeper understanding as they learn the elements of harmony, rhythm, imagination, and expression. As attendees expand their knowledge of music and art, this yearly event will result in new friendships and become an annual highlight for our community.


FAQ:

  • How much is each individual class? Classes are $15 each. The price listed above is the total for all classes that week.

  • How many classes can my child register for? As many as you would like as long as the class times don’t coincide.

  • What if my child does not like their class? Before deciding to drop the class, please speak with your instructor. If you decide to no longer attend, please contact about our reimbursement policy.

  • Is every class at the same time? Yes, each class will take place at the same time each day. (Please check if your class is held each day. Some classes alternate.)

  • Can I only attend a few days of the same class? Each class has been designed to build from the previous. Attending all the class days of one subject, (E.X. All Watercolor classes), allow the student to have a well rounded experience. If you choose not to attend all the classes. The total will not fluctuate.

  • The class I want to attend is full, I still want to attend: Please let us know if a class you would like to attend is full! You’ll be placed on a waiting list and contacted at the first opportunity of a spot opening.

  • Are any classes repeated? The same class will not be held twice. Each class has been designed to build on the previous.

  • What if I can’t make it? Letting us know ASAP if you cannot make it, will be vital. Each class has a student cap, so we may be able to fill a spot from the waiting list. Please contact about our reimbursement policy.

  • Is there a scholarship? Please contact us about our scholarship.
